DBWFF OPENING NIGHT 2025

Join us for the opening night of THE DAYON BLACK WOMEN'S FILM FESTIVAL with a cocktail soiree starting at 6:30 PM on THE NEON's patio followed by screenings (starting at 7:30) featuring a curated selection of powerful short films from around the globe - all produced, directed, and written by Black women. The first selections will shine a light on the incredible work of Black women currently enrolled in the Motion Picture Production program at Wright State University, showcasing the next generation of filmmakers. We will then screen the Dayton Premiere of BROWNIES - the award-winning film directed by Aisha Ford followed by a virtual Q+A with Aisha. And lastly, we will honor the legacy of Dr. Marva Mitchell with the presentation of the Garden of Dreams Scholarship.
